Ode to Johnny

You sat in the dark, in the dust and decay,
Wondering when it'd be your time to play.
Two long years you waited around,
Hoping and wishing for that joyous sound...
The sound of people coming to find you,
To clean you all up til you shined like brand new.
This could only mean one thing!
A new child would fill your soft swing.
And who would this chubby little one be?
Who would you cradle and finally see?
A fine bouncing boy seemed just right for the task,
Now 'Johnny' would be used once again, finally, at last!
Oh Johnny how we love what you do,
You keep our boy busy, our little Jace Andrew.
For he loves to jump up and down in your seat,
He likes the lights and thinks your toys are quite neat.
So Johnny, don't you fear and don't fret,
A better toy for our Jace we haven't found yet.
So we'll keep you hanging around for a good long while
For we just love the way you make our boy smile!
