About Us

My photo
Scott and I have been married for 8 1/2 years now. We have two beautiful children, Isabelle Rose and Jace Andrew. We live in Centerville, Utah in a townhouse that we LOVE! Scott recently switched jobs (again) and went to work for Scott Hale Plumbing, Heating and Air. This switch has been a tremendous blessing for our family and Scott is really liking the service end of the Heating/Air business. Butterfly Wings and Tiny Things has kind of been fazed out. We had a successful run, did a lot of boutiques, made quite a bit of money, and got burned out:) So, for now we are doing special order magnet boards only. It keeps up busy enough. Scott and I love waterskiing, watching movies, going on drives, and really just being together. We hope you enjoy our blog!

Halloween Spooks

Halloween has never been one of my favorite holidays. However, i have to admit that having children has changed that...a lot. In fact, i would dare say that Halloween ranks up in my top three holidays now. I know, i know. There really aren't THAT many holidays to choose from. But, top three is better than dead last, right? But alas, i digress.

So, yesterday was Halloween. We spent the morning in Orem watching our cousins complete a half marathon. Why anyone in their right mind would choose to run, let alone run a half marathon, is beyond me. But we are, if nothing else, a supportive family. So, we showed up to cheer the cousins on. They did great. Aside from my children getting off of their schedules, which makes mommy crazy, it was a fun morning.

By the time we got home, Izzy was more than ready for the Halloween festivities to begin. She had been able to wear her 'Belle' costume twice already, and had LOVED being that princess. She couldn't wait to get into that baby again! And so the preparations began. Hair curled, the 'Belle bump' (her bun) in place, make-up applied, and the finally, dress adorned. Left to admire herself in the mirror, she was now content for a bit while i dressed the rest of us. Jace was easy. Zip that froggy cosutme up and go. And now we had the princess and the frog. Cute. I know. Scotty was a biker dude. This was really nothing out of the ordinary for him. In fact, he was worried no one would think he was even dressed up. But, he did look rather tough in his bandana, tat sleeve, spiked braclet, and leather jacket. This just left mommy to get ready. My she-devil costume consisted mainly of lots of eye make-up and a wig with horns. Add a pair of spikey earings and a bat necklace and we were ready to rock!

We headed off to have our traditional soup bowl and scone dinner at my moms house. Afterwhich we made visits to Grandma Ann, Janny, Cindy, and some neighborhood friends. Lucky for us, Izzy doesn't have the desire to trick-or-treat very long. She's just happy to wear the costume and pose for pictures. By seven o'clock we we done...'put a fork in us' done. My over stimulated, no napping, sugar high bouncing off the wall kids, were ready for a knock out. We said goodnight to everyone and headed home. After a brief, but substantial meltdown, Izzy was down for the count. All Jace wanted was some milk and some peace and quiet. And Mom and Dad? We just needed a few minutes to unwind.

It was a good day. It was a great Halloween. Let's do it again next year.
